Commissioned by SUSTA, Phaff Export Marketing is organizing a trade mission. This trade mission will take place in Texas and New York. In New York City, the delegation will visit the Summer Fancy Food Show. This trade mission will start on June 20, 2023, and end on June 26, 2023.

SUSTA

The Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA) facilitates trade between small to medium-sized Southern United States companies and overseas importers. Since 1973, SUSTA has worked with the Departments of Agriculture of the 14 southern states and Puerto Rice to promote the export of high-value food and agricultural products.

Next to the SUSTA team, the State Departments of Agriculture of Texas and North Carolina are involved in the organization of this SUSTA trade mission.

Delegation

A total of 4 companies that import products out of the United States, or are interested in importing products from the Southern United States are part of the delegation of this trade mission. On behalf of SUSTA, Phaff Export Marketing has invited these companies to join the trade mission. After the final selection, the companies did receive an official invitation letter.

The participants all come from different European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Trade Mission

This trade mission consists of two parts. The first part is visiting Texas. The second part is visiting the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City.

Together with the delegation of European buyers, Phaff Export Marketing will travel to the United States. The program is trade-oriented, with a focus on typical quality American processed food items, like artisanal, beverages, condiments, GMO and gluten-free, ethnic foods, organic and natural, nut butter, sauces, healthy snacks, bakery products, etc.

Texas

During the visit to Texas, the European buyers will have one-on-one meetings with U.S. vendors that are interested in exporting to Europe. This gives the SUSTA companies the possibility for (first) introductions with qualified buyers. Topics that will be discussed during these meetings are, among others, the potential of the products in Europe. This is also an opportunity for the buyers to try and taste the products.

Besides, retail visits are organized.

Summer Fancy Food Show

The second part of this trade mission will take place in New York City. Also in New York, one-on-one meetings will be organized. Next to the one-on-one meetings, the Summer Fancy Food Show will be visited. The Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City is the largest specialty food show in North America since 1952 and invited buyers and exhibitors from all over the world.
