This virtual beer, wine and spirits trade mission, was an ideal activity for professional European buyers with an interest in beers, wines, and spirits from the Southern United States. The virtual mission did take place from the 27th of October until the 30th of October, 2020.
Commissioned by SUSTA, Phaff Export Marketing organized this virtual beer, wine, and spirits trade mission. The Departments of Agriculture of North Carolina and Maryland are also involved in the organization of this trade mission.
Beer, wine and spirits
The European market’s interest in special American craft beers, bourbons, and more exclusive wines shows an increasing trend. More than 15% of all American craft beers are exported to the European market. Besides that, the emerging European markets do have a greater "hunger" for more luxury international products than only the basic food products.
The United States usually ranks on the 3rd or 4th place as a European favored import country for food and drinks.
In the Southern United States, there are many producers of beers, wines, and spirits. This makes that there will be a wide range of products to offer.
Producers
During this mission producers from the following States were represented:
- Maryland
- North Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
Samples virtual meetings
The European buyers received a box with samples of the US vendors.
