At the end of October 2020, Phaff Export Marketing organized a virtual food trade mission for foodservice and retail products. Exporters/producers out of the Southern United States were connected to European importers.

This virtual food trade mission did take place from the 19th of October till the 23rd of October, 2020.

Activities in the trade mission

Included activities for this virtual food trade mission were:

  • A customized market scan for each US participant, including market information, competitor analysis, and EU-requirements;
  • A market introduction with every US participant;
  • A virtual market briefing, in which we will prepare the US participants for their online meetings;
  • One-on-one meetings with European buyers.

Europe and the US

The European Union is an old and 'reliable' trading partner of the United States, with the market being easily accessible for US export companies. Additionally, US products have a good image and the market is interested in new US products. With consumption similar between the market and the US, it provides endless opportunities for exporting.

SUSTA

The organization of this trade mission was commissioned by the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA). SUSTA helps small companies in the Southern United States to promote value-added US food and agricultural products to foreign markets.

Virtual trade mission

Since we were not allowed to travel Phaff Export Marketing started with the organization of virtual trade missions. Meet with possible partners all over the world, without ever leaving your home!

During these virtual meetings, you are welcomed by one of our team members. When both the exporter and the importer are in the meeting room, they are assigned to a breakout room. In this breakout room, the exporter and the importer can discuss in private.
